Softscaping
ER&M is rooted in horticulture. We are plant people and have focused on the installation and care of plants for the past 30 years. Our core category ‘Softscaping’ encompasses all aspects of planting trees, shrubs, perennials, ground covers, fall bulbs, annual flowers, turf and an unlimited variety of wildflower meadows.
These plants can be installed in a wide range of areas for multiple purposes ranging from lining streets to softening building foundations to assisting with storm water runoff in sediment and bio-ponds. ‘Softscaping’ also includes all necessary grading, topsoil, bio-retention soil and the addition of soil amendments necessary for a successful plant installation.

Hardscaping
‘Hardscaping’ is defined as natural or man-made features used to enhance the functionality of the landscape. ‘Hardscaping’ and ‘Softscaping’ are the Ying and Yang of landscaping. They balance each other out and cannot be fully appreciated on their own. Walkways, retaining walls, patios, water features and gravel mow strips are just a few examples of the features ER&M has installed over the last 30 years.
